Use of this site or app is considered consent to these terms. Our Privacy page is separate.

The service

Shortbuss Trivia is live quiz hosting. This site is the product site. The app runs on app.sbtrivia.com.

Accounts

Accounts are for hosts. Do not share your login. Login sharing can result in bans

Players

Players join with a PIN and a nickname. The host controls the room.

Plans and billing

The product site describes these USD plans. Every plan can host unlimited live quizes. The player cap still applies.

Acceptable use

Do not abuse the service, scrape it, interfere with it, use it for illegal activity, or impersonate anyone. We will ban accounts that do.

If we ban an account for violating these Terms, any active subscription on it is canceled immediately.

Your content

Hosts own their quizzes. You give us consent to host and display that content so games can run. Nicknames and leaderboard scores are public in the room.

As-is, no SLA

The service is provided as-is. We do not promise uptime, support hours, or a service level.

Subscriptions & billing

Shortbuss Trivia has a Free plan and two paid plans: Standard at $5 per month and Pro at $10 per month. Paid plans are billed monthly. There's no free trial and no annual option. Subscriptions belong to the individual host account that bought them. Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe Checkout, and you manage your subscription in the Stripe billing portal. To check out, you have to accept these Terms. Promo codes may apply to some purchases. Applicable taxes, including sales tax where required, may be added to your charges. We may also give an account a paid plan at no charge.

Renewal & cancellation

Paid plans renew automatically every month, and your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the billing portal. When you cancel, you keep your paid plan until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that, your account moves to the Free plan.

Refunds

Payments are non-refundable. That includes partial months: if you cancel or downgrade mid-period, you won't get a refund for the unused time. We may issue a refund at our discretion, but we're not required to.

Plan changes

Upgrades start right away. You're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal, and you keep your current plan until then. Downgrading doesn't delete anything: quizzes and content over the new plan's limits are kept, but your use of them is limited to what the new plan allows.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it automatically. If the retries still fail, your subscription is canceled and your account moves to the Free plan. Your content is kept, under the Free plan's limits. You can subscribe again at any time.

Price changes

We may change plan prices. Before a new price applies to your subscription, we'll give you at least 30 days' advance notice by email. The new price takes effect at your next renewal after the notice period. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before then.

Liability

Our total liability is the amount you paid us in the last month. We are not liable for indirect damages, as far as the law allows.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top is the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
